Charity project "Camp-residence Arts for hearts Ternopil-2023"

On August 21-27, 2023, the second part of the charity art camp Samr Residence "ARTS FOR HEARTS Ternopil-2023" took place. Thanks to the support of the Ternopil City Council, the Department of Culture and Arts, the director and creative coaches of the Ternopil Lyceum № 21-SMS named after I. Hereta, the Children's School of Arts № 5 named after I. Dunayevsky, the Rockada Charitable Foundation, and the Department of Culture of the Kharkiv City Council, the second part of this project was successfully held. The target audience of the creative camp was internally displaced children who, together with their families, found refuge in Ternopil. Six teachers from the Ternopil Lyceum and six teachers from the Kharkiv Art School teamed up to create an interesting and useful art therapy program for temporarily displaced children. Throughout the week, the children were engaged in various artistic activities involving psychological relief techniques conducted by Natalia Kosmina. The first day was incredibly busy: an interesting city tour with a wonderful and charismatic guide, a boat trip on the lake, a backstage tour of the Ternopil Academic Theater of Actors and Puppets. On other days, the children sang, practiced choreography, theater and fine arts, visited the recording studio at the lyceum, where they could feel like a part of a real band, did modeling, and learned healing and psychological self-help techniques. Each of the camp participants also took part in the musical and theatrical performance "Melodies of Hearts", which was shown in the center of Ternopil as part of the city's events dedicated to the City Day. For some, it was their first ever performance on stage, for others it was their first artistic experience as an actor or musician. Such an event will definitely be an impetus for the creative development of young talents. On August 27, Mayor Serhiy Nadal presented Kharkiv residents with memorable gifts and gratitude for the fruitful cooperation between the cities of Ternopil and Kharkiv, the successful implementation of the first joint project, and on the occasion of Ternopil City Day. As part of the project, a series of roundtables and professional seminars on piano (speaker - Oksana Kravchuk), vocal (Maryna Vinichenko), theater (Alina Yesina), and guitar (Valeria Semenenko) were held, where teachers shared their experience of distance learning since 2022. Larysa Shabelnyk, librarian of the Kharkiv School of Arts, demonstrated the school's electronic library catalogs and materials used by the Kharkiv school in conducting patriotic education classes. Maria Stadnik, a teacher at the Vashkivtsi Art School, conducted a lesson on mastering the Sibelius music editor. We are sincerely grateful to Serhiy Nadal, Maria Gudyma and her incredible team of professionals who helped in every way and contributed to making this project happen!
